Why do you have a Dysfunctional Family?

Why do you have a dysfunctional family? Well, there are many reasons behind it. But it's all related to the way, you see your life and the World. In a dysfunctional family, family members especially parents abuse or neglect their children, or other family members. Abuse of drugs and alcohol, codependency, or mental disorders, can make your family dysfunctional. A dysfunctional family is full of  disrespect, conflict and instability. Actually speaking, family is the small yet effective social unit of society. You get most of your characteristic features out of family. Most of you, sometimes, become the victims of some subliminal misprograming, given to you by family; which acts as a constraint in terms of achieving your true self.

What makes your family dysfunctional: The lack of proper communication, among the members, drug or alcoholic abuse, lack of empathy, control, violent behavior, religious fundamentalism, over possessiveness etc can be held responsible for a dysfunctional family. Sometimes some members follow the habit of Perfectionism, where they hold high expectations about children or some other members in a selfish way that they don't accept failure or mistake. It's actually your psychological disorder, coming out of your focus on the life of self service. The habit of perfectionism makes you criticize others for no valid reason. Your perfectionism usually adversely affects the playfulness of children and is the steady source of all negativity.

How you are affected: Your dysfunctional family dynamic can cause children to struggle later in life. Most of the children copy your behavioral pattern and this is how they develop their nature. The victims of a dysfunctional family are likely to be bullies or the ones with various disorders or negative behaviors or serious study problem in school. The family background seriously affects you wherever you are, be it at school or work. Children from dysfunctional families are found to be more socially isolated. They tend to withdraw themselves from the mainstream events. The children from dysfunctional family are more likely to be depressed as they maintain low esteem. When they face such a situation, it is possible that they get easily drifted into drug or alcohol abuse. A dysfunctional family is full of competition and lack of cooperation and as a result, it produces an atmosphere of family clashes, conflicts, abuse of women and children and the aged. Such an atmosphere speeds up everything negative, including your aging process, blood pressure, weakness in immunity system, divorce, elopement even premature death.

What you must do: (A) Recognize what is happening: Know that whatever you see outside is simply the optical illusions from your limited vision. When you pick a partner, make sure that she/he does have almost same taste in life. Pick your partner who's your vibratory match. Understand that you are here simply to make some experience and get evolved through gaining more consciousness. You get more conscious when you wean yourself off your colored vision and start to see only unity in diversity. Know that you can never be superior or inferior to someone. Creation is so freaking different that it doesn't bear anything valueless. Everyone is unique, the way they are. Everything here does have its own value. It's your misperception  that makes you think the other way around. The Brain makes you have a colored vision of duality, where you can't see any unity. This is how you make a whole lot of problems as you see things only in separation and segregation. Start your day with a 5- minute meditation with the reaffirmation or inner visualization that everything is one and you love your family the most. Such a practice gives you the muscle memory about the actions, you have to take in this regard. Know that your consciousness gets filtered. But how can you get your Spirit activated and live more consciously? Well, it can be easily done, with a little bit of focus from your part. Just practice love.

The Saturnine Perspective on Dysfunctional Families as a Reflection of Unresolved Patterns

Dysfunctional families are often the result of unresolved patterns passed down through generations. Saturn teaches that these patterns can be broken through awareness and conscious choice. When you recognise the patterns in your family, you can choose to respond differently and create a new legacy. This is the Saturnine way: to take responsibility for your own healing and to break the cycle for future generations.

The Role of Communication in Healing Family Dysfunction

Communication is the foundation of healthy family relationships. When communication breaks down, misunderstandings and conflicts arise. By learning to communicate openly and honestly, you can begin to heal the wounds in your family. This does not mean avoiding difficult conversations — it means approaching them with respect and a willingness to understand. The Saturnine approach to communication is one of patience, honesty, and courage.

The Connection Between Family Dysfunction and Personal Growth

Family dysfunction can be a powerful catalyst for personal growth. The challenges you face in your family can teach you resilience, empathy, and the importance of setting boundaries. By confronting these challenges consciously, you can transform them into opportunities for growth. This is not about blaming your family — it is about taking responsibility for your own healing and using your experiences to become a stronger, more compassionate person.

Practical Tips for the Reader

To begin healing family dysfunction, start by setting healthy boundaries with family members. Communicate openly and honestly about your feelings and needs. Seek support from trusted friends, therapists, or support groups. Practice self-care to maintain your own well-being. Be patient — healing takes time and requires consistent effort. Remember that you cannot change others, but you can change how you respond to them. Focus on your own growth and healing, and let your example inspire others to do the same.
