What makes you arrogant?

What makes you arrogant? Well, it's time to look into that. Many of you definitely get subjected to someone else's arrogance always. Some of you may have been arrogant when you look back into life. But there's no need for that as it comes out of your misperception. Just have a check.

What your arrogance is: Arrogance is your pretensions to superior importance or rights and it's the behavioral problem which makes you overbearingly assuming or insolently proud. Your arrogance and smugness are often a reflection of limited life experience. Arrogance is not your inherited personality trait, actually speaking, it's the unconscious expression of your low self esteem. Arrogance reflects an interpersonal quality which includes a desire to overpower others without recognizing your mistakes as it makes a mindset which is not ready to receive any criticisms. An arrogant person finds it difficult to ask for forgiveness as they are intolerant of those who are not like them. Arrogance is nothing but the distorted projection of your mind, which stimulates your sense of self-worth, sometimes, to the point of seeing others as less important. An example of arrogance is when you think that you are never wrong. And it always gives you a misconceived belief system that you can do anything even though you don't have any experience in any field.

What makes you arrogant: Actually speaking, it's your Narcissistic Personality Disorder as an arrogant person longs to be admired and respected for their special qualities and great accomplishments. It is a personality trait which can either be forged from your childhood or later stages of life. It's a disorder, being generated out of your tendency to compare yourself unconsciously with others all the time, to measure the progress, you are making in what matters to you. Sometimes your arrogance serves as a defensive mechanism through which you try to protect your self-esteem and self-worth. It becomes a way to hide and compensate for your feelings of insecurity, inferiority or lack of self-confidence. Arrogance helps you reject others before they can reject you. The emotionally weak people, sometimes, use arrogance as an invisible shield around them so that no one messes them up or takes them for granted. It can be a behavior you, osmotically, learned from peers, or it can also be a reaction embedded by the scars of events in your past. An arrogant person is actually a cry for help. For some others, doing something extraordinary or the feeling that they have achieved something special in life, makes them feel superior to others.

How you can get over it: First of all, know that Creation means difference. You can see even every single leaf of a tiny plant is different from one another. Know that you are unique the way you are. You get a filtered consciousness from the brain, which makes you feel arrogant as you can see things only in separation, when there's only unity around. Practice love which is the maximum level of consciousness, you can get. Understand the fact that you can't do anything singlehandedly. Cooperation is the basic principle behind Creation and you get evolved only through cooperation. The greatest lesson, you learn out of your life is your ability to understand people's situations and behave accordingly. Put yourself in your victim's position and make a self analysis before you shower your delusional outburst upon the victim. Practice repentance. Have self judgement every day before you go to bed. Never get yourself exposed to someone else's arrogance either. Use your free will to speak up and be bold enough to question the way, you are being ill-treated. Understand the fact that you get ill-treated only when you literally allow that to happen to you. You are the part of the Universe and are so valuable and if someone doesn't understand that through misperception. Give them a lesson to learn for the day. You are living in a Universe where everyone is unique the way they are and is equally important. Mutual respect is the signature of your evolution and your advanced knowledge in action.

The Saturnine Perspective on Arrogance as a Mask for Insecurity

Arrogance is often a mask for deep insecurity. Saturn teaches that true strength is quiet and grounded, not loud and boastful. When you feel the need to assert superiority over others, it is often a sign that you are not at peace with yourself. The Saturnine approach is to turn inward and examine the source of your insecurity. By addressing your own wounds, you reduce the need to project arrogance onto others. Humility is not weakness — it is the foundation of true strength.

The Role of Empathy in Overcoming Arrogance

Empathy is the antidote to arrogance. When you genuinely understand another person's perspective, you recognise that their experience is as valid as your own. This dissolves the illusion of superiority. Arrogance thrives on separation; empathy thrives on connection. By practicing empathy, you dismantle the barriers that arrogance creates. The more you understand others, the less you feel the need to dominate them.

The Connection Between Arrogance and Lack of Self-Awareness

Arrogance is often a sign of limited self-awareness. When you are unaware of your own flaws and limitations, you are more likely to project an inflated sense of self-importance. Self-awareness is the antidote. By honestly examining your own strengths and weaknesses, you develop a more balanced and realistic self-perception. This reduces the need for arrogance and fosters genuine confidence.

Practical Tips for the Reader

To overcome arrogance, start by practicing humility — remind yourself that you have much to learn from others. Cultivate empathy by actively listening to others and trying to understand their perspectives. Practice self-reflection — examine your own flaws and limitations honestly. Seek feedback from trusted friends and family, and be open to constructive criticism. Remember that true confidence does not require putting others down. Recognise that you are one part of a larger whole and that cooperation, not competition, is the path to growth. By practicing humility and empathy, you can transform arrogance into authentic self-assurance.
